How SCU Accelerated Science Courses Work
Finding the Right Science Course for You
Our courses are designed to get you the credit you need in as little time as possible so you can move forward with your health sciences education. Specifically designed to meet the needs of healthcare-related programs, our courses help you gain the knowledge and earn the credits you need at an accelerated pace so you can continue your education journey with ease.
Registering for Your Science Course
Registering for your accelerated science course is easy. Find your course and then select how and when you want to attend. Lectures and labs are available in-person, online (self-paced or live), or in a combination of both online and on-ground work. We offer multiple start dates and class times on different days of the week to best fit your schedule.
You don’t need to submit an application or a transcript to register for a course. Simply fill out your registration and payment details and you’re ready to begin. After your registration is complete, you’ll receive information regarding the free textbooks, email access, technology requirements, and everything you need to complete your coursework.
Registration is subject to the timeframes below.
- Online Live and In-Person courses: late registration allowed if completed before the second class session.
- Online Self-Paced courses, late registration is allowed if completed before the end of Friday of the first week.
Accreditation
Another symbol of excellence at SCU is reflected by its regional accreditation. Regional accreditation is not the same as national accreditation. The main difference between the two is that credits earned from institutions that are regionally accredited are more widely accepted and thus more easily transferable. Southern California University of Health Sciences is accredited by WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), 985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, CA 94501.
All-Inclusive Tuition
All-inclusive pricing covers tuition, fees, textbook(s), and any lab requirements if needed (lab coat, and goggles) with no hidden fees.

| SCU tuition includes access to interactive e-textbooks for the duration of the course. Students who prefer physical textbooks may purchase or rent printed materials through their preferred vendor. A non-refundable $100 registration fee is charged for each enrolled course or course bundle and secures a student’s seat in the selected offering. Certain courses may require additional technology or equipment, including an external webcam compatible with Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor for online exam proctoring. Technology and equipment costs are not included in tuition or fees. All tuition and associated program fees listed above are subject to change. | |
Preparing for Your Course
Your accelerated course condenses a typically 3-4 month course into 5 weeks. Successful students attend all classes and set aside significant time to study outside of class. Students who do not have a background in math and science or do not have recent exposure to math and science courses will need to spend more time reviewing the course material.

Free Faculty Tutoring Included
If you’d like extra help with your studies, you’ll have access to tutoring directly from our faculty, no outside tutors. You can schedule appointments anytime, and there’s no limit on the number of sessions you can request.
Transferring Your Science Course Credits
Before registering, confirm that your course will be accepted for transfer by your receiving institution. SCU cannot guarantee the transferability of credits, as that policy is set by each receiving institution. Your receiving institution may require that you submit the course syllabus or course description from SCU. You can download the syllabus from each course webpage.
Students have sent SCU Accelerated Sciences transcripts to over 950 institutions and 50 centralized applications. Requesting Your Transcripts
Upon completion of your course, you can request your transcripts. Once your final grade is posted (typically 5-7 days after the final week of classes), your course credits will be available for transfer. Transcripts can be easily sent to multiple institutions electronically or to yourself for $15 per transcript.
